Course programme

Employers are required to have a process of workstation assessment for all employees who use computers. When this process identifies a problem, or the employee reports a difficulty, the employer must further assess the situation in order to recommend and implement any necessary changes.

This course aims to help those involved in workstation assessments respond effectively to reports of a problem and develop suitable solutions.

The regulations are set out in the HSE publication L26 entitled “Work with Display Screen Equipment: Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 as amended by the Health and Safety (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2002”, second edition 2003, ISBN 0 7176 2582 6.
AbilityNet consultants have extensive practical experience in the assessment of computer workstations. This workshop is designed to share that experience and help participants to:

  • respond effectively to the first report of a problem

The regulations, the law, the real risks, the real needs. Upper limb disorders, “RSI”, vision problems, headaches & migraines, epilepsy, etc; and also dyslexia.
