Aims of the course
To enable those working in single camera factual/documentary series to be effective in production management

Structure of the course
Following workshop introductions, the course is task-led, with a diagnostic seminar concluding each session, and covers the following:

- the production manager's role
- the worth of your programme - how much will it get?
- introduction to spreadsheet budgeting
- considerations of health and safety
- choosing a post-production path
- schedule and budget creation from a treatment for a single programme
- creating schedule and budget outlines from a brief treatment for a factual series
- spreadsheet budget creation for a single programme
- spreadsheet budget creation for a factual series
- protecting your budget

Course outcome
Delegates will work on networked PC's for all planning, spreadsheet and budget work. and will complete the course able to build on a solid framework of production management method

The course work is closely related to Skillset NVQ structures at levels 3 and 4, providing vital underpinning experience at these levels wherever possible.
