•Refresh overview of the foundation course

•Discrimination and diversity in electrical systems
•Circuit breaker types and characteristics
•Basic capacitance and inductance in electrical circuits and safety issues
•Motor types, construction, characteristics and operation
•Dead fault finding on our 3 phase 400 volt motor pumped system
•Star delta relationships and the need for reduced current starting, auto-transformer starters, resistance starters and soft-start starters
•Investigate electrical interlocking and proximity devices
•Wire a forward and reverse motor control panel, star delta motor starter panel from schematic diagrams
•An introduction into PLC interfacing and control systems
•Fully static and function test at the relevant stages.
