The new Emergency First Aid at Work course was introduced by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) on October 1st 2009.

The 6 Hour Emergency First Aid course is suitable for staff training on your own premises. A certificate, valid for three years and recognised by the Health & Safety Executive, is awarded to each candidate.

Syllabus

  • Understand the importance of basic hygiene in first aid procedures

  • Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency

  • Demonstrate how to administer first aid safely, promptly and effectively to a casualty who is unconscious and / or in seizure;

  • •Demonstrate how to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) promptly and effectively

  • Demonstrate how to administer first aid safely, promptly and effectively to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding and or / in shock

  • Administer first aid safely, promptly and effectively to a casualty who is choking or suffering from Anaphylaxis

  • Provide first aid for minor injuries
