Candidates will refresh basic life support skills and learn how to deliver oxygen to both, breathing and nonbreathing patients, whilst maintaining an open airway with the aid of an aspirator and OP airway, and incorporating spinal casualty management, including the application of cervical collars. The candidate will learn about suspension trauma, its causes, associated risks and preventative techniques will get to employ these both on land and whilst suspended in a harness. Suitable for: This course is aimed at individuals or teams (IRATA included) who work at height, or operate at height as part of their leisure/recreational pursuit.

About this course

A basic first aid certificate is required as a pre requisite for the two day course. A valid HSE First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification (or equivalent) is required as a pre-requisite for the four day course. (Candidates must be suitably qualified and trained prior to arrival for any ‘at height’ training to occur, this is not provided within the EMRAH syllabus.)

The Emergency Medical Response At Height (EMRAH) course is a specialist course developed by The Training Centre looking at the specific medical complications surrounding the recovery of casualties from cliffs, construction sites and other tall structures. On the course the candidate will refresh basic life support skills and learn how to deliver oxygen to both, breathing and non–breathing patients, whilst maintaining an open airway with the aid of an aspirator and OP airway, and incorporating spinal casualty management, including the application of cervical collars.
