The course content will also address common sports injuries, which have the potential to develop, if left untreated, into long-term problems and further absence from the sport.
All Sports Injury Courses can be customized to a particular sporting discipline (Rugby, Football, Cricket, Athletics, etc.).

Course Content:
- General Principles of Sports Injuries
- General treatment of casualty on & off the field
- Disorders of the airway and breathing - Resuscitation (CPR)
- The unconscious casualty - Airway management - Recovery Position
- Skeletal injuries - Spinal - Fractures
- Joint injuries - Ligament injuries - Dislocations - Fractures
- Muscle injuries - Strains
- Disorders of the circulatory system - Heart Attack - Wounds
- Miscellaneous conditions - Blisters
- Friction Burns - Muscle cramp - Stitch - Acute winding
- Exercise induced asthma
- Groin pain/injury
- General rules for the care and transport of the injured casualty
- The First Aid Kit
Course Duration
- 1 x 6 Hours or 2 x 3 Hours
Course Material
- All delegates receive a comprehensive course book at the start of the course.
Assessment
- Assessments will be conducted on a continual basis throughout the course using first aid sports injury and medical emergency scenarios.
Certification
- Successful delegates receive a certificate of competency valid for three years.
