The programme has been designed to provide students with a detailed knowledge of the technology required to ensure energy provision in the renewables industry. Students get both a theoretical and practical grounding for future managers of energy projects. Suitable for: Students with mechanical, civil, electrical, chemical and other suitable engineering backgrounds. In special cases, the Programme is also made available to those with relevant science backgrounds.

About this course
Our minimum entry requirement for this programme is a UK Honours degree (or an honours degree from a non-UK institution which is judged by the University to be of equivalent worth) in any branch of Engineering at a 2:1 (upper second) class or above. International applicants are also required to provide proof of proficiency in English (6.5 in IELTS examination or 580 in TOEFL)

Energy Futures Dissertation
- From June to September, students will work on a dissertation which is, where possible, undertaken while on an industrial placement. The subject for a student's dissertation will be chosen following discussion between staff and the student and in the light of placement availability.
Assessment
By written examination and course work as prescribed for each course. In addition, MSc candidates must submit a dissertation on their project, and may be required to undergo an oral examination. The degree of Master of Science (MSc) in Energy Futures (Renewables) shall not be awarded to a candidate who fails to achieve a CAS mark of 9 or above in the dissertation, irrespective of performance in other courses.
Teaching
The programme is taught by specialist staff drawn from Engineering, Geography & Environment, Geology, and Plant & Soil Science, who are each highly regarded in their field of expertise.
