This module will provide you with the opportunity to critically explore the concepts and developments of health and social care practice involving technology based assistive devices (Telehealth (TH), Telecare (TC) and Telemedicine (TM)).The module will focus on theoretical, organisational, ethical and research perspectives in relation to tele-assistive devices. It will enable you to evaluate the use of technology in the delivery of health and social care services and appraise whether these technologies represent an effective choice for individuals seeking to maintain or improve their health and well-being. The module will critically question whether technology can play a role in enabling people with disabilities or long term conditions to care for themselves or support service users' carers.
