Course programme

The course provides a general engineering education through a range of BTEC engineering units. There is a mixture of electronic, electrical and mechanical engineering units, while some units are relevant to all engineering disciplines, such as health and safety, maths, and the use of effective communications.

In the CAD unit you will apply modern technologies to engineering problems, and you will complete a project unit in the second year of the course.

As well as the BTEC qualifications you will do practical work in the college workshop.

The course may lead to an apprenticeship in the engineering industry, or entry to an engineering foundation degree.
