The course is designed to give apprentices practical experience in a wide range of mechanical engineering processes while working within the engineering fieldWe believe the future of research lies in breaking down traditional barriers between academic disciplines so the bigger problems of the 21st century can be considered from human as well as physical perspectives. Course programme

Your time in college will be spent gaining practical experience in mechanical engineering such as drawing, hand fitting techniques, use of lathes and milling machines and various welding techniques. You will also learn the theory behind those techniques and gain the skills to translate engineering terms onto paper. You will also spend time learning how to work safely and efficiently in an engineering environment and update your numeracy, literacy and IT skills. In addition to your day in college, you will be learning a range of practical skills from your employer, employers’ responsibilities and rights, working with others and improving your own learning and performance.
