What's it all about?:
Advanced Apprenticeships are for learners employed as an apprentice by a local company. Funding is guaranteed by the Government for training, with priority being given to learners starting aged 16 to 18 years. We can assist in matching learners to employers.

Entry Requirements:
Entry is by an initial assessment at the Work-based Learning Department.

Duration: Four years Course Overview
What does the course involve?:

The course content will include:
• NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations, Level 3 in Engineering Production
• Key Skills: Application of Number, Communication, Information Technology, Working With Others, Improve Own Learning
• Technical certificate: progression award
• ERR - Employers Rights and Responsibilities.

There is a choice of three occupational routes, which are fabrication, machining or welding.

Day/block release, various days and times

Are there any exams?:
Assessment is continuous, both on and off the job.
