2. Course description This course is for school leavers and those wishing to pursue a career within the field of production/mechanical engineering/welding. The course is a combination of Performing Engineering Operations Level 1 and the BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Engineering and carries a number of mandatory and specialist units. This course gives you the opportunity to gain skills in the mechanical, welding and electrical workshops as well as generic skills of health and safety, communications applying for jobs, preparation for interviews and actual interview skills.
