English GCSE is essential for anyone who wants to teach, and is very useful in many other careers.

Other information

We can enter students for 2 different tiers: Foundation and Higher but most are entered for the higher tier. We study a range of poems & short stories from an anthology. Students have a clean copy of the anthology for the exam.

This course provides an excellent opportunity to gain a good grade in English.

You will develop your understanding of how texts are written to produce their effect on the reader and study a range of fiction and non-fiction, including a Shakespeare play.
