Our General English course covers writing, reading, listening and communication. It is taught in the evening so it is ideal for you if you are working or have other commitments during the day. The main emphasis of this course is on practical communication skills, enabling you to build up your vocabulary and develop your confidence and fluency. You will be expected to participate in pair work and group work to practise your English. Classes are small, allowing you to receive the personal attention needed to succeed in improving your skills. There are a total of 30 hours of tuition. The course is offered at regular intervals, several times during the year. This course is ideal if your English is at a lower level and you want to progress to an IELTS Preparation course, but need more practice beforehand.

About this course

By the end of the General English Course you will:
be able to communicate more effectively and confidently in everyday situations
improve in all areas of the English language: grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, pronunciation, reading and writing

Your language level will be assessed before you join the course. It is expected that students for the IELTS Preparation courses will be at a minimum of intermediate level (B1). If you have applied for the IELTS Preparation course and your language level is too low, you will be given the option to transfer to the General English course.
