What can this course offer me?
So many different things! Hopefully by the end of the course you will have found a new sense of understanding, ability and confidence within English Language and you will be able to use these skills throughout your academic programme at KGV.
The course is split into two main sections, one dealing with preparing a coursework folder the other dealing with preparing for your final exams.
What will I learn?
First you will produce a coursework folder, including written and oral pieces which will focus both on texts you will read in class - such as Macbeth, and Of Mice And Men - along with aspects of Media and creative pieces. Speaking and Listening will focus on improving presentation, discussion and evaluative skills and you will make individual and group contributions that will be assessed.
The second part of the course will focus on preparation and practice for the final summer exams.
If you are a student who received a grade C or above for the coursework folder you produced at your previous school, then you also have the opportunity to re-sit your exams earlier in the year, either in November or January.
