This is an interesting and stimulating course which involves both a practical, skills-based and an academic approach to language. You are encouraged to develop your interest and enjoyment in the use of English, through learning more about its structures and its functions, its development and its variations. You will learn to express yourself with increasing competence and sophistication, encounter a varied range of reading, and develop skills of critical and attentive listening.
Course Content
The course consists of a variety of speaking and listening and reading and writing tasks, some of which are assessed by examination and some through coursework.
The coursework comprises four written tasks
A range of speaking and listening tasks.
The examinations will include
Teaching will be through a variety of teacher-led, group and individual activities. Students will have one 2 hour lesson a week. In the first term and a half the focus will be on completing coursework, after that students prepare for the exam papers.

European Computer Driving Licence
ECDL Extra-Level 2
Course Description
This demanding but very worthwhile 30 week (3 hours a week) course consists of eight modules
New ECDL participants should have completed a basic course in IT/Computing such as CLAIT Level 1 or should have had significant involvement in the use of Personal Computers (PCs) in their work.It is not recommended for studentswith little or no experience in the use of computers.
Assessment
Each of the eight modules is assessed by a 45 minute online exam which will be sat when students are ready.
This is an evening course.
