What is the course about?
This one year course is intended for students who wish to raise their GCSE English grade from a D to a C. The course is taken alongside a full-time Level 2 or Level 3 course.
While studying English you will improve the fluency and accuracy of your written expression and develop your reading skills. You will read a variety of literary and non-literary texts, write for different audiences and purposes and develop your speaking and listening skills.
GCSE English Language set texts include a play by Shakespeare, short stories, modern poetry and media texts.

What are the course outcomes?
GCSE English Language grades A* - G.

Final exam: 60%
Written coursework: 20%
Speaking & Listening coursework: 20%
