Course Content:
Unit 1 (exam): Integrated Analysis and Text Production. You will study two prose or drama texts. You will write an analysis of one text and a creative adaptation of the other. Unit 2 (exam): Analysing Speech and its Representation. You will study one prose or drama text. You will analyse language in the set text and will compare speech in two previously-unseen texts.

Other Information:
You will need to buy three set texts to use in class: Great Expectations by Charles Dickens and two other literature texts. You could also buy Exploring Language and Literature by Croft & Myers, to study with at home.

Progression:
Successful students have gone on to study A2 English, or an AS or degree level in other subjects such as Journalism or Law
