Are you the sort of person who loves to read? On the bus, in the back garden, curled up in bed – the sort of person who takes a book or e-reader everywhere? The ethos of this course is to explore literature – poetry, prose and drama – and your wider reading is as important as studying the texts set by the exam board. You will get the most out of this course if you enjoy talking about writers’ ideas and techniques, are open to studying pre-1900 texts, and have an interest in creative writing.
