Access to HE courses are delivered over 35 weeks, 2 days per week from 9.00am-4.30pm. Students are recommended to commit to the same number of hours each week for home study. Below are a list of units that are on offer, however, this is not fixed and students wishing to progress on to teaching will be offered units in teaching practice and placement. Applicants can take GCSE English and/or Maths however, if students already posess these at C grade or higher they will be excused from these sessions.

Course programme
Students will study a range of 20 Academic (ASC) and Study Skills (APS) units. These will include;
Research, Academic Writing, Creative Writing, Linguistics, History of English Language, Poetry, English for Academic Purposes plus many more. Students wishing to progress on to teaching can study two Education units as entry requiements for B.Ed and other teaching degrees.
There are no specific entry requirements for this course however all applicants will be required to attend a workshop and interview. During the workshop you will be asked to complete an initial assessment (paper based and online) and this will help us to help you access the right course for you at this time.
