What will I learn?
You will learn to think for yourself and will acquire the ability to read in a way that will help you to evaluate not just the set texts but any piece of writing, learning how to communicate your own response to the texts in the form of essays. The good thing about studying English is that it provides an excellent basis for progression to so many different types of career ? it?s entirely up to you where you take it.
What qualifications do I need?
We would normally require candidates to have the standard sixth form entry criteria including English Literature and English Language both to at least Grade B.
Career opportunities:
This qualification is a good basis for so many different types of jobs. You might like to consider publishing, advertising, journalism, writing, marketing, library assistant, administration and management.
