What are the entry requirements?
You will need at least 5 GCSE grades A*-C (including grade B or above in English Language). In addition, as part of the interview process, you may be required to sit subject specific, English and maths assessments.

Interpret information: You can read and understand tables, charts, graphs and diagrams; read and understand numbers used in different ways; estimate amounts and proportions; make accurate observations and select appropriate methods to get the results you need. Carry out calculations: You can carry out calculations involving two or more steps, with numbers of any size, with and without a calculator; work with and convert between fractions, decimals and percentages; convert measurements between systems (e.g. pounds to kilograms); work out areas and volumes; work out dimensions from scale drawings; use proportions and calculate ratios where appropriate; compare sets of data of an appropriate size and use range to describe the spread within sets of data.

What qualification will I receive?
AS Level in English Literature.

Where can it lead?
This course can lead to progression in studying English Literature at A2 Level (2nd year of A Level). It will also count towards your UCAS points.

What will I study?
At AS, you will study three texts in Victorian Literature, in detail, plus three texts for wider reading and contextual support. A suggested wider reading list will be provided. You will also be required to produce a coursework folder containing two pieces of writing one prose text and one drama text in Victorian Literature, comprising 2,000 - 2,500 words in total.

How will I be taught?
You will learn through lectures, classwork, individual tutorials as well as personal study.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through examinations and coursework.

You have access to a range of online resources, enrichment facilities including study skills, sports as well as group meetings once a week.
