If you are an international student, or if you speak English as a second language, and need to improve your language skills before you can study for your degree, then this programme will be right for you.

The English Pre-Sessional Programme has been created to prepare you for academic culture in the UK, to improve your language skills, and to help you gain the academic skills needed to succeed in your chosen field. We’ll support you to develop all skills to a standard comparable to IELTS 6.0/6.5. Classes will focus on understanding and using academic texts, writing university assignments, participating in lectures and seminars, and other key academic study skills.

By the end of the course, you should have a good understanding of what your degree lecturers will expect from you. Teaching is interactive with a strong focus on communication and group work rather than just grammar and vocabulary. You will not only learn from your tutors, but also from working with other students in the class.

All classes are delivered by specialist English for Academic Purposes (EAP) lecturers who work closely with your degree tutors to make sure you learn the skills that will be most useful for you.
