You also have the opportunity to study computing and maths, and take suitable Skills for Life English language qualifications. Suitable for: ESOL students who want to improve their English.

Course Content

You will learn:

How to identify characteristics of adult ESOL learners,

  • effective methods of teaching languages
  • the four language skills, and
  • how adults learn another language.

You can do general English language courses from beginner level to Level 2 and gain a nationally recognised ESOL Skills for Life qualification from Trinity College. You will develop your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. All courses include a tutorial so that students have the opportunity to work out an individual learning plan with their tutor. There are also opportunities to work in the computer suite and integrate ICT skills with language work.

Classes are offered at:
ESOL Entry Level 1 - Beginners
ESOL Entry Level 2 - Elementary
ESOL Entry Level 3 - Intermediate

Students who have a particular need to develop reading and writing skills in English will be referred to an ESOL Literacy class at the right level.
