Summary: This full time English course is aimed at 16-18 year olds to improve reading, writing, speaking & listening skills.








Course description: This English (ESOL) course will develop your speaking, listening, reading, writing & grammar skills. You will take part in a range of activities covering different subjects such as  health, sport, hobbies, transport and jobs as well as trips to develop your language skills. In past years trips have included Whitlingham Broad, the cinema and Pleasurewood Hills. 
We have a range of levels available. The right level for you will be assessed as part of the interview process:

Entry Level 1 ESOL plus maths

Entry Level 2 plus Workskills and maths

Entry Level 3 plus Workskills and maths
Workskills helps you to understand the world of work, team work skills and managing your money. 
You will also develop computer skills and study Functional Skills maths at a level which is suitable to you.
The course helps you to get used to college life and living in the UK. We will support you in your future and staff help you to apply for College courses for the following year.at 









Entry requirements: There are no formal requirements but you must be aged between 16 and 18 years old.









Assessment: You will gain a qualification in ESOL, assessed by exam. You may be able to take your exam early and progress to a second level within one year.









Academic progression: Following the successful completion of the course with a good attendance and behaviour record, you may be able to progress on to further courses at the College.









Career progression: The ESOL qualification is widely recognised by employers and will assist with your progression into further education, employment as well as everyday life in the UK.









Costs: If you are a UK or home- fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course, tuition fees are free. If you are aged 19 years and over please contact the Advice Shop.
