Course Content:
ESOL courses at the college cater for all levels of ability and will help you to progress in the four skills of Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing. By studying on an ESOL course you will: - Develop a good knowledge of English - Gain a qualification - Meet new friends - Gain the language skills you need for everyday life. We deliver the following levels. Entry 1 - For beginners. Learners will develop everyday communication in English, introductory sentence writing, reading for meaning, vocabulary, listening for information and speaking Entry 2 - For learners who are already able to communicate in English but need more assistance with accuracy. Grammar is developed further, alongside the other skills. Entry 3 - For learners of English who anticipate needing more formal English in their daily lives. As well as speaking and listening, students must develop good reading and writing skills. Level 1 - Learners will acquire language skills for the very competent user. Having previously studied grammar basics, more complex language is covered, including phrasal verbs and idiomatic language. Level 2 - Learners will be expected to read a range of texts of varying complexity accurately and to write ideas and opinions clearly and effectively, using length, format and style appropriate to purpose, content and audience. As part of your learning programme you will study Citizenship and have a weekly ICT class.

We will: - Help you improve your English - Treat you fairly - Help you get a qualification - Offer you information about the college and its services - Support you with regular individual tutorials - Provide you with extra support if needed - Give you information about progression We expect you to: - Attend all the classes - Attend the whole class - Arrive at the classes on time - Complete all the homework set by the tutor - Undertake an ESOL qualification Our ESOL courses are very popular and demand to enrol is very high. All of our learners have to sign a special Learners Agreement, which shows they agree to a number of key conditions. It is very important that you understand and agree to these conditions before you enrol on the course. If you cannot meet these expectations then your place on the course will be reviewed.
