Who can join?
The course is open to everyone who wishes help in understanding the English language.
How do I attend?
It is usually available as a short course requiring 40 hours of study, which is usually once a week for 20 weeks. However, it may possible to arrange for you to come more often if this is possible. The course is based in The NHC-Thurso, The NHC-Alness, The NHC-Wick and The NHC-Dornoch.
It is also based in other learning centres throughout the Highlands, including Grantown on Spey, Aviemore and Inverness. These venues may increase, so contact the co-ordinator Fiona Whiteford for the most up-to-date information on where and when it is available.
What will I study?
How to understand, and make yourself understood, in English. There is help with reading, writing, speaking and listening. The range of study units available makes it possible to study units from Access level 2 to Higher level, depending on your needs.
