Why BSc(Hons) Environmental Resource Management?
With climate change high on the political agenda, those working in governments, science and industry are keen to find new ways to mitigate risk. As resources become scarce, making good use of existing resources through effective energy management is also vital. As a result, there is growing demand for skilled professionals who understand how best to manage our energy, environment and resources.
Why study our course?
This course examines the impact of people on the environment as a result of their demand and use of global resources. It will also help you develop the skills and knowledge to identify and evaluate sustainable approaches to resource management. The main themes include water, energy, climate change / global warming and environmental hazards. In your Final year, you will be able to choose to specialise in renewable energy or water futures, or develop a broad training in energy management. Alongside all this, you will develop analytical, problem solving, decision making, communication and business skills, preparing you for the workplace.
Real world experience
Throughout the course, you will experience environmental issues first-hand on site visits and field trips. You will also be able to learn about best practice and industry challenges through presentations by visiting professionals. There will also be opportunities to complete internships and a work placement to broaden your experience and industry knowledge.
Where it can take you
On graduation, you will find a range of opportunities in the commercial, industrial or public sectors. These include renewable energy project manager roles, carbon or energy consulting work, and advising industry or government on climate or energy policy.
