Course programme

Background to the Course

The need for supervisors to understand and control those activities which affect the environment in quarries and other operational sites in the extractive and mineral processing industries within the scope of their responsibilities is of increasing importance to operators. It is therefore, essential that supervisors are sufficiently aware of the impacts of these activities and are equipped to deal with them within an environmental management system, (EMS), and minimise the risk to the environment and those who could be affected.
This course has been specifically designed to substantially cover the knowledge requirements of the NVQ in Health, Safety and Environmental Management in Quarries at level 3, which is the proof of the competence required under Regulation 9 of the Quarries Regulations, 1999 that is preferred by HSE.

This course is aimed at supervisors at smaller operational units with environmental responsibilities within their job role.
