Equine Craniosacral Techniques Level I

This well-rounded course will introduce students to the basics of CranioSacral Therapy (CST). Techniques are taught on humans to clarify concepts of comparative anatomy for when the work is applied to the horse. It has been found that the quality of the work done with animals often is reflected by the space from which the therapist is aware of within him or herself. The four days are divided between lectures, demonstration and practice involving some work with humans but mostly with horses. Course participants with previous CST training will find this class to be an excellent review as well as a fresh, novel approach with many new applications for use on horses.

Overall, this experiential workshop involves a great deal of open sharing and self-discovery, particularly about perceptions, motivation and resistance regarding both practitioners and animals. We highly encourage students to receive several CranioSacral Therapy (CST) sessions from a skilled practitioner before coming to the course. It is an invaluable way to understand and appreciate this subtle, effective manual therapy.

Please Note: certification in the Craniosacral Approach to Animals (Upledger Institute) is issued upon completion of course. Full participation is required for the four days. Completion of this course does not qualify you to advertise yourself as an equine body worker unless you hold other certifications in the equine field, (as in Equine Body Worker, Equine Sports Massage Therapist, Advanced Equine Body Worker, etc.). It is a component of the Equinology, Inc. Specialized Certification curriculum.
