Therapy and rehabilitation of horses is a rapidly growing industry and the need for well qualified and experienced equine practitioners has grown considerably over the last few years. Many more horse owners are recognising the need to promote the health and well being of their horses in order to maximise performance. The programme includes a range of modules designed to offer both technical expertise and practical competence in the management, therapy and rehabilitation of horses.

Special Features:
In the third year students will undertake the dissertation which provides the opportunity for individuals to do an indepth study on a specialised topic within your chosen subject area. It is envisaged that students on the course would endeavour to gain additional recognised vocational qualifications in order to provide them with a unique combination of academic and practical knowledge and experience.

Graduates may become professional coaches in the equine industry or a range of disciplines across the sporting sector. The nature and diversity of both the equine and sports industries mean that graduates may progress into a wide range of employment opportunities.

Entry Requirements:
140 points at Advanced level (80 at A2) or equivalent OR National Diploma at MPP OR 2 National Awards at Merit OR NVQ Level 3 in a related subject with a satisfactory reference OR “life experience” will also be taken into account when considering applications from mature students OR Holders of Higher National Diploma in Equine will be considered for direct entry into the second year of the programme. Holders of a Foundation Degree in Equine will be considered for direct entry into the third year, after successful completion of a short bridging programme. An admission assignment may be used in certain circumstances.
