Who is this course for?
Basic English Course for people whose first language is not English. English for Beginners is for students who cannot read, write or speak any English.

What previous knowledge/experience are required?
None

What is the level of the course?
Pre-entry to Level 2

What will the course cover and what can I expect to do by the end of it?
Speaking and Listening : How to give personal details; name, address, phone number, nationality. How to say the alphabet, numbers and tell the time Reading and Writing : You will be able to read and write short passages about people.

What teaching and learning methods will be used on the course?
Small groups. Maximum 12. Group, pair and individual work. Materials and worksheets provided. Access to computers.

How will we assess your progress on the course?
Individual learning plans and tutorials with your teacher.

What type of qualification will passing this course give me?
Work either towards a nationally recognised Cambridge ESOL or City and Guilds exam focusing on different skills each term or a Working Men's College Certificate.

What extra study/practice do we expect you to do outside the class?
Your teacher will give you regular homework.

What can I do after completing this course?
