ESOL with Care

Course Description
The course is designed to provide tuition in the English language at Intermediate level 2, for speakers of other languages. It is aimed at people who wish to work in the care industry and as such, provides ESOL units, a care related project, Health & Safety and information technology.

Preferred Entry Requirements
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) at SQA level Intermediate 1. It may also be necessary to assess candidates English skills by way of 40-minute assessment.

Course Duration: 18 weeks
Start Date: September 2009 and F
End Date: January 2010 and Jun
Hours per week: 15 hours

Course Content
Written and spoken English, Care Project, Health & Safety and Information Technology.

Progression
The course is designed to help prepare candidates to work in the care industry. It may be possible to progress to the NQ Care course.
