Essential English
This is a pre-GCSE English course, aimed at developing skills in reading and writing in preparation for studying GCSE English in the second year.
What does the course involve?
You will work in small groups, developing your confidence both on paper and in discussions.
What will I study?
You will produce four pieces of writing for coursework, including autobiography, creative writing, analysis of non-fiction and a beginner's guide. You will develop speaking and listening skills through presentation, discussion and debates throughout the year. There is a short (and not too difficult!) exam in May.
