Course programme

Practical evidence will be assessed in the workplace. Knowledge evidence will be assessed by completion of City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Engineering, involving a number of written and practical assessments.

The Level 3 Diploma covers a range of fabrication and welding disciplines related to the Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering sector. It allows learners to demonstrate their occupational competence through the development of skills and gaining of knowledge. It also covers the competency component of a Level 3 Apprenticeship.


Learners who successfully complete Level 3 may progress into supervisory, managerial or technical fields within the Engineering industry. Alternatively, learners may wish to progress to a Level 4 HNC in Engineering, a Foundation Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a Level 4 Engineering Apprenticeship.
