Suitable for: Suitable for anyone wishing to gain a Computing qualifacation. Access to the intenet is required. Exams can be taken at Lutterworth Training Centre or at any approved testing centre. Exam costs in the region of £10.00 per exam depending on centre.

European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) - Elearning course

ECDL can be studied anywhere you have access to the internet.   Your course will be contained within your own individual learning environment.   You access this environment using your issued username and password.  As well as the online courses learners have access to practice papers which are submitted and marked by our trainers, additional exercises and additional materials.  The courses contain exercises which you receive immediate scores from.   You will also have an assigned course tutor who will provide feedback and support via email or the telephone.  Exams can be taken at our centre in Lutterworth or at an approved ECDL training centre.

Course Fee: £175+VAT
Exam Fees: £8 per exam at Lutterworth.  External exam fees in the region of £20

ECDL stands for European Computer Driving Licence, which is an internationally recognised qualification enabling you to certify your competence in essential computer skills and knowledge.  No previous computer experience is necessary to study it.

To achieve the ECDL qualification, you must pass each of the following modules.

 

Module 1: Basic Concepts of Information Technology (IT) - Getting Started; Hardware; Storage; Software; Information networks; Computers in everyday life; IT and society; Security , copyright and the law

Module 2: Using the Computer and Managing Files - Getting started; Desktop; environment; Organising files; Simple editing; Print management

Module 3: Word Processing - Getting started; Basic operations; Formatting; Finishing a document; Printing; More advanced features

Module 4: Spreadsheets - Getting started,Basic operations; Formulas and functions; Formatting; Printing; More advanced features

Module 5: Databases - Getting started; Creating a database; Making changes to a database; Use of forms; Retrieve information; Reporting

Module 6: Presentations - Getting started; Basic operations; Formatting; Graphics and charts; Printing and distribution; Slide show effects; View a slide show

Module 7: Information and Communications - The Internet: Getting started; Web navigation; Web searching; Bookmarks; E-mail: Getting started; Messaging; Addressing; Message Management
