* You are permitted to take a semester of study abroad in the second year. If you choose this option, you will be registered on either ESS2000 Study Abroad (Inside the European Union) or ESS2100 Study Abroad (Outside the European Union) and will be required to take ESS2303 Research Methods and Analytical Procedures plus a further 30 credits from the stage 2 optional modules starting with the prefix ESS2.
