Course programme

Design for Interaction is a hot subject but can be difficult to access. Max is a user-friendly visual programming language that connects sound, video and OpenGL (3d graphics), network communication, sensors and more. You will have the chance to work on a personal project and leave with additional work for your portfolio.

In three days, you will learn multiple levels of interaction, from a simple reaction to a non-linear narrative while you build your own project using a range of techniques such as sensor technologies and space mapping.

The course will look at multiple levels of interaction from a simple reaction to non-linear narrative using Max as a programming language. Starting with a simple video player connected to a sensor, we will explore tools and techniques to blend an image in a space. You will use some of our tools made for exhibition to synchronize two, four or more videos on multiple screens or simply to place multiple videos on one space. You will then be introduced to commercial software such as Madmapper.
