Description
An
eight week evening course to explore ideas associated with Experimental
Archaeology as part of methods in archaeological research, with the
additional opportunities to attend tutor guided Saturday fieldtrips to
relevant museums and archaeological sites, and to engage in small
Experimental Archaeology projects. The tutor will offer guidance in
project areas, and the course will encourage discussion relating to
aspects of this field of research, which may be of value to those who wish
to pursue further academic study or a leisure interest.
Course
Content
Each classroom session will address a different topic
within the main theme of Experimental Archaeology, and there will be time
each week set aside for activities relating to practical issues. From an
archaeological perspective, the group will discuss physical evidence and
theories associated with methods of experimentation.
Where a course is
aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students
will enter for the qualification.
