Background
Following the introduction of the new Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road Regulations 2004 and the training requirements in compliance with ADR, this 1-Day Awareness Course is designed to give all persons employed whose duties concern the carriage of dangerous goods, training appropriate to their responsibilities and duties.
- General awareness training
Personnel shall be familiar with the general requirements.
- Function-specific training
Detailed training, commensurate directly with their duties and responsibilities, where carriage involves a multimodal transport operation be aware of those differences and requirements.
- Safety training
Degree of risk of injury or exposure arising from an incident, hazard awareness and dangers presented.
The training provided is aimed to make personnel aware of the safe handling and emergency response procedures and is primarily aimed at drivers who transport 1.4S explosive articles or substances and crew members (attendants) for other explosives.
Although an ADR training certificate (VTC) is not required for these goods, the regulations require that those involved receive commensurate training.
In addition to the above-mentioned aspects of the course each student will receive a course booklet and ID Card.
After the successful completion of the exam, taken at the end of the course, you will receive a certificate of competence valid for 5 years. This will enable the employer to prove that the employee is correctly trained in accordance with the training requirement and proof of training for the drivers and crew also.
