Course Summary:
An extended school is one that
provides a range of activities and services to help meet the needs of
pupils, their families and the wider community. This interactive
course will explore the role of the school library in extended
schools. Participants will gain a greater understanding of the
extended school initiative, more awareness of the contribution the
library can make and more confidence in delivering it. They will
explore links with other school policies and practices, strategies for
effective study support and ideas for supporting family learning,
adult education and community engagement.

About Anne Harding
Anne is an independent trainer
and lecturer. She specialises in children's and young people's reading
and children's and school libraries. She regularly provides courses
for the School Library Association as well as for CILIP, the National
Centre for Language and Literacy, the Youth Libraries Group and local
authorities and schools throughout the UK.
Course FeesAll courses run for a full day and fees include
lunch and refreshments.
