F-Gas assessment & qualification

NEW COURSES TO COVER F –GAS REGULATIONS.

CCS Limited have  introduced new courses to their portfolio to meet the legal requirements of EC Regulation 842/2006

( the F –Gas Regulation).

The courses are designed for operatives who install, service and repair refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump systems. Operatives should be assessed in the following skills.

• Inspection, removal, replacement and maintenance of key system components.
• Pipework, brazing and jointing skills.
• Recovery of refrigerants.
• Analysis of system performance and record keeping.
• Intrusive and non – intrusive leak and performance checking of systems.

Pipe work & brazing will form part of the new F – Gas Assessment (category 1 or 2), and delegates who have little or no experience of oxy – acetylene brazing should attend a CITB pipe work & brazing course prior to being assessed under the new F –Gas Scheme.

There will be 4 categories of certification:

Category 1  Leakage check, recovery, installs, maintain, and service all systems

Category 2 Leakage check,recovery, install, maintain, service – systems

                      Less than 3kg (6kg hermetically sealed)

Category 3  Recovery of refrigerant of systems less than 3kg ( 6kg –

                      Hermetically sealed)

Category 4  Leakage check.

Attendees of any of the above courses will gain certification in compliance with the F – Gas Regulation, these mandatory qualifications are valid for 5 years.
