No formal qualifications are required for this course if you some work experience, GCSE's grade E/D or above or Level 1 Literacy & Numeracy is desirable or must have Minimum ESOL Level 1 because of the technical elements of this course

About the course:
This course gives you the underpinning skills for gaining the required knowledge and understanding to Fabrication and Welding
Course Content:
This is a basic engineering award that consists four essential units
· Working safely in an engineering environment
· Developing yourself and working with other people on engineering activities
· Identifying and selecting engineering materials
· Using and communicating technical information
There is also a basic introduction to Tungsten Arc Gas Shielded Welding (TAGS) or Metal Arc Gas Shielded Welding (MAGS)
This course is offered as a day release so ideal for apprenticeships and employers training new and existing staff.
Learning Style:
Practical workshop activities and theory classroom work
Equipment Requirements:
The student must provide their own personal safety wear - i.e. boots, safety overalls
Progression:
Progression to PEO 2 in Fabrication & Welding
Additional Information:
