The learner will be able to:

1. Recognise why regular exercise is
beneficial both physically and
emotionally
1.1 List the main physical and emotional benefits for self and child of
regular exercise
1.2 Identify at least 3 suitable activities for self and other family member s
2. Recognise the importance of using an
action plan to improve family fitness
2.1 Produce a simple action plan for family fitness which identifies
activities and timescales
3. Recognise the need to set realistic
goals
3.1 Identify appropriate family fitness goals
3.2 Record progress towards achieving the stated goals
4. Recognise the importance of warming
up and cooling down
4.1 State the importance of warm up and cool down
4.2 Outline a simple warm up and cooling down routine
5. Recognise health and safety
considerations of fitness activities
5.1 List the health and safety requirements for chosen activity
