Program Purpose / Objectives

The purpose of this CME activity is to review the diagnosis and management of dermatological conditions encountered by primary care physicians.
Following attendance at this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Review the normal anatomy of human skin
  • Examine the mouth
  • Review techniques used to examine the skin
  • List the functions of the skin
  • Review the tissues and cells of the skin
  • Evaluate bacterial, viral, and fungal diseases of the skin
  • Recognize different types of dermatitis
  • List six Papulosquamous diseases
  • Define open and closed comedone
  • Describe the clinical features of warts
  • Review the effects of aging on skin, hair and nails
  • Describe characteristics of acute oral ulcers
