About this course

To start you need to have 2 A-Level passes or a National Diploma (BTEC) in a relevant art and design discipline and a good portfolio of general artwork. Mature students with a good portfolio are welcome to apply.

What will you be learning?
This course aims to develop the skills required for a career in the fashion and textiles industry. The course is divided into 12 modules covering subjects such as: Drawing; visual communication; garment construction and pattern cutting; textile design and printing as well as looking at historical and critical issues in fashion and textiles. You will produce a collection of garments or textiles at the end of 2 years. The course has a strong work-based element with students doing work placements throughout the course.

What happens when you have finished?
On completion, you can convert this qualification into a full Degree by progressing onto the one-year BA (Hons) Fashion and Textiles Top-up Degree.
