Becoming a successful fashion designer involve the understanding of a wide variety of elements and attributes. This Diploma Course will give you the various methods of designing, building a quantitive and qualitative body of research and how to obtain inspiration in the design process. You will be taken through each step with your very own 1 to 1 tutor, who will be able to build your confidence in this subject area. Also, as you progress through this short course, you will be given short tutorials on how to work with the relevant software, for example Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. On successfully competing this course you will receive a Diploma Award.

About this course
This course is designed for those who have carried out some training in this subject area previously. You should be able to follow the basics of fashion design, but if you have never studied this subject before, we recommend that you start with our Fashion Design for Beginners Diploma Course level 1.
You will also need to have access to the internet and Skype.
Communication: It is important that you have access to the internet, Skype with a webcam. Knowledge & Skills: This course can be for beginners and no prior knowledge or experience required to study this course. Your Attributes: An ability to be self motivated, an eye for design and open to new ideas. Entry Qualifications: None required for this course, but you must be able to communicate, read and write in English. PROGRESSION OPTIONS:Fashion Design Degree Course with the IICDM FINAL EXAM:You will have to complete a final exam successfully to be awarded the Diploma for this course subject ASSESSMENTS: If you are successfully awarded a place on this course, you will be given a Pre-Course Assessment prior to beginning the main course. This is not a test and only an assessment on the level you are at at your time of entry. It will also not affect your course enrollment.

The aim of this course is to give you the following:
• BUILD AN ADVANCED UNDERSTANDING OF FASHION DESIGN
• BE ABLE TO START DESIGNING GARMENTS
• FULLY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU NEED TO BECOME A FASHION DESIGNER
• DEVELOP YOUR OWN CREATIVE PROCESS - BASIC LEVEL
• BE ABLE TO DRAW AND PRODUCE FASHION DESIGNS
You will also obtain the knowledge of fabrics, colour principles and how to develop your own unique styles
HOW THIS COURSE WORKSOnce you have enroled on this course and your ecampus student account has become active, you will arrange with your own one to one training coach a day and time for your first Skype tutorial. It is a good idea to set the same day and time for each week for the duration of this course. You will then work through a module each week. The aim is to complete this short course over the 12 months, but we can be flexible within reason.

Time: Dedication to this course depends on the time you have available. This course should take between 10 and 12 months, but can be completed quicker or longer. It is flexible, but we can set a schedule for you if you require to finish this course by a specific time.
Study Material: Study material will be supplied, but we will also list a variety of additional study books etc which you can purchase if you wish.
