Who is this course for?
This course will develop you as a confident, knowledgeable and effective practitioner to work with children, young people and their families in the children's and young people's service sector. The course encourages you to reflect on your practice and enhance this through the theory you learn. Your work setting is used for work-based projects, activities and research so everything you study will be relevant to your everyday work. You'll also have the support of a work-based mentor at your workplace, plus the support your tutors. The course includes 3 pathways allowing you to specialise in Early Years, Teaching Assistants or Health and Social Care. Chesterfield College offers the chance to apply to study the BA (Hons) Child and Youth Studies or Education Studies degree validated by the University of Derby by undertaking a further period of study.
Entry qualifications
Pass a relevant level 3 qualification. GCSE at Grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English (and Science for QTS). Mature entry also considered
