    A Level

The Foundation Degree in Social Care Studies is a two year, full-time, or three years part time higher education course. Students will attend college for lectures on two days a week over a period of two years. Part time students would attend for one day a week over three years. There is an expectation that students will undertake self directed study when not in formal lessons. The course offers a generic look at care and the values and systems that underpin the field. Students gain the required theory and knowledge to work in social care, and the practical skills and attitudes through structured work experience. This experinece allows students to apply and observe how theory is put into practice and is not a competency based training. The course leads to a Foundation Degree qualification validated by the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David.
