Course programme
You will study a range of topics to give you a sound knowledge and critical understanding of the principles of fitness training, sports coaching and human performance.
Some of the modules you will study include:
Human physiology in practice,
Advanced sports coaching,
Principles of fitness training,
Applied fitness testing,
Entrepreneurship in fitness and sports coaching,
Health and fitness promotion,
Exercise nutrition
Lessons will be varied, from classsroom lectures and seminars, to advanced practical sessions and observed assessments.
Throughout the course, the focus is on practical application of skills and knowledge to a real life vocational context.
You will also undertake a practical work-based learning project, during which you will be able to use a range of techniques you have developed to undertake critical analysis of relevant information and apply them to real work situations.
Entry Requirements
A minimum of 180 UCAS tariff points and GCSE English and maths at a minimum of grade C.
